Framework Overview

The OAC Method: Optimize → Attract → Convert

By Shelli K. Spence  ·  Shelli's Socials

Most LinkedIn strategists start with activity — commenting, content creation, writing posts. While these are important, they miss a crucial first step.

I start with profile optimization.

Why? Because attracting attention to an unoptimized profile wastes your effort. Your profile should be ready to convert visitors into connections, subscribers, or booked calls before you drive traffic to it.

The OAC Method is a three-stage, sequential framework. Each stage builds on the previous one. Skipping stages costs you results.

Why This Framework Is Different

Most LinkedIn advice treats the platform like a megaphone: post more, comment more, connect more. The OAC Method treats LinkedIn like a system. Every element has a purpose, and the sequence matters.

When you follow the framework in order, the results compound. When you skip Optimize and go straight to Attract, you drive traffic to a profile that doesn't convert — and your effort is wasted.

The Three Pillars

Pillar 1

OPTIMIZE

Profile Best Practices for Conversion

Your profile must be engineered to convert before you drive any traffic to it. This means every section — headline, About, Featured, Experience — points the visitor toward a single action.

Pillar 2

ATTRACT

Drive Traffic to Your Optimized Profile

Once your profile is conversion-ready, it's time to build visibility. The Attract stage has two components: content strategy and personal branding activities.

Pillar 3

CONVERT

Turn Attention Into Opportunity

The Convert stage is where LinkedIn visibility becomes real business results. This is a proprietary 7-step DM process that converts profile visitors into booked calls — built entirely on genuine relationship-building and earned trust.

The Key Insight Most People Miss

Posting comes last, not first. Most professionals jump straight to content creation before their profile is ready. They post regularly, build some visibility — and then visitors land on a profile that doesn't answer the right questions fast enough, and the opportunity disappears.

The profile optimization checklist covers exactly what needs to be in place before you focus on content.

Once the system is built correctly, LinkedIn becomes something most people never experience: a professional opportunity engine that works in the background, attracting the right people while you focus on your actual work.
